All bottles from the vintage edition of Abbondio are awesome! I think I will have to start to collect all of them.

Curioser and Curioser – London exhibition Russian Criminal Tattoos –

Here is an interesting show launched last weekend. It will runs till end of November, so if you happened to be in London area during the next month, this is a must go. A rare intrusion into the post-soviet prison life, this unique exhibition showcase more than 3000 photographs and drawings of tattoos (done by prisoners) collected from 1948 to 2005 by Sergei Vasiliev and Danzig Baldaev. Being both prison wardens, it was easier for them to enter this closed society and recorded the coded meanings of this provocative art form. They had to get KGB approval to produce those documents and we really have to keep in mind that tattooing was illegal at that time in soviet Russia. Thanks to miss Mira Bourdon for the hint! XO

Voici une exposition fort intéressante qui a été lance à Londres le weekend dernier et qui sera à l’affiche jusqu’à la fin novembre. Alors, si vous êtes à Londres d’ici là, c’est à voir! Cette exposition unique se présente comme une rare intrusion dans le monde des prisons russes post soviétique et présente plus de 3000 photos et dessins de tatouages (fait par des prisonniers) Sergei Vasiliev et Danzig Baldaev, deux gardiens de prisons, ont rassemblés le tout de 1948 à 2005. Faisant partie du milieu, il a été plus facile pour eux d’infiltrer cette société fermée et de nous transmettre la signification de cette forme d’art, très provocatrice. Il ne faut surtout pas oublier qu’ils ont du avoir l’accord du KGB afin de travailler sur ce projet et que le tatouage était illégal à cette époque en Russie Soviétique.
