Curioser and Curioser – Pin up Tattoo… Just like real vintage paintings! –

These little masterpieces are the art of Véro at Tattoo Mania in Montreal. They really seemed to be actual paintings straight out of a vintage pin up calendar. Surprise! It’s ink in the skin! Pretty impressive! One of my friend is going to see her for one of her upcoming projects (PLS noticed the S! Ahahhh!). Can’t wait to see the final result!

All Eyes on Threads - Ellen Greene Tattooed Gloves -

I know you feel cold and winter is not over yet, but don’t take these gloves for your new winter fashion item. Not wearable. Only art. With this fabulous piece of work, Ellen Greene explores the contrast between two opposing traditions. The lady like vintage leather glove vs. tattoos being more of a masculine art form. She says the gloves represent purity, modesty and formality while traditional tattoo can easily suggest freedom, rebellion and criminality. The tension between the two subjects creates this really unique beauty. The type of beauty I definitely like. The concept is really genius! I really enjoy when arts go further than just a painting or drawing and really have a meaning to it.

Je sais que vous avez froid et que l'hiver n'est pas encore terminé, mais ne prenez surtout pas ces gants pour une
nouvelle addition à votre garde-robe d'hiver. Non portable. De l’art pur et simple. Avec ces pièces tout à fait fabuleuses, Ellen Greene tente d’explorer le contraste entre deux traditions opposées. Le gant de cuir de ces demoiselles d’époque vs. le tatouage en tant qu’art masculin. Aux yeux de l’artiste, les gants représentent la pureté, la modestie et la formalité alors que le tatouage traditionnel nous ramène vers la liberté, la rébellion et la criminalité. La tension entre les deux sujets crée cette beauté unique. Le type de beauté j’affectionne particulièrement. Le concept est vraiment génial! J’adore l’art qui va plus loin qu’une simple peinture ou dessin et à laquelle on peut attribuer un sens.

Hot Plate - New City & Colour Single/ Fragile Birds -

It is undeniable ... I'm a fan of City & Colour! Especially because these songs remind me of my first moments with my man and also because Dallas Green live is even better LIVE than in studio tracks. This new single from his upcoming album "Little Hell » (Due next June), sounds more and more like a C&C live show! Adios Dallas and only but only his guitar (or almost)! Hello Dallas, his guitar and loud drum! I have great expectations for this third album and I am pretty sure I will not be disappointed at all!

C’est indéniable… Je suis une fan de City & Colour! Surtout parce que ces chansons me rappellent mes premiers instants avec mon amoureux mais aussi parce que Dallas Green sonnent encore mieux live que dans ses enregistrements studio. Ce nouveau single, tiré de son prochain album « Little Hell » (sortie prévue en juin prochain), a de plus en plus des airs de C&C en show! Adios Dallas et seulement mais seulement sa guitare (ou presque)! Bonjour Dallas, sa guitare et « loud drum »! J’ai beaucoup d’attentes envers ce troisième album et je crois que je ne serai pas du tout déçue!

Yesterday, Bijou and Zema made me take a little trip to laval for the Bike’n’Tattoo show. I wasn’t expecting much more than Hot Rods, cool bikes, heavy tattooed old biker in leather vest, sexy girls dressed in spandex and full of giggles with the girls. But I was WOWed by one of the booth not so far from the Tattoomania one; Glamour Parties. My eyes immediately spotted the amazing corsets that they were selling and the closer I was getting to Marisa Parisella mini transportable boudoir, the more I was excited. Her portfolio was there for everybody to flipped trough. It is not a secret for anybody, I always fall for pretty pictures with a «  pin-upesque »/ burlesque kind of feel. Plus the girl behind the camera is as cutesy and nice as her work so I definitely felt for her images. She took the time to explain me all the different packages that she is offering. No need to be a professional model. We can all snapshot your skirt getting up in the wind while making the prettiest whoops! face we ever did. She offers various package that all includes the wardrobe and many more options.

Hier, Bijou et Zema m’ont fait faire un petit voyage jusqu’à Laval pour le Bike’n’Tattoo show. Je ne m’attendais pas à grand chose de plus que de voir des Hot Rods, de belles motos, des vieux motards tatoués en veste de cuir, des filles sexy vêtue de Spandex et pleins de fou rires avec les filles. Mais j’ai vite été épaté par un des kiosques non loin de celui de Tattoomania; Glamour Parties. Mon regard à immédiatement été attiré par les jolies petits corsets qu’elle vendait et plus je m’approchais du mini boudoir portatif de Marisa Parisella, plus j’étais excitée. Son portfolio était là pour que tous et chacun puisse le feuilletter. Ceci étant dit, ce n’est un secret pour personne, dès que j’aperçois des images de type pin-up/ burlesque, je suis vendue. Et quand on ajoute à ça, le fait que la dame derrière la caméra est aussi mignonne que son travail, aucun doute que je craque! Elle a pris le temps de m’expliquer les différentes types de forfaits qu’elle offre. Nul besoin d’être une top modèle, ces services sont accessible à tous. Donc, aucune excuse. Nous pouvons toutes immortaliser notre jupes virevoltant au vent et arborer notre plus jolie minois à la OUPS! que nous n’ayons jamais fait. Elle offre différent forfaits comprenant tous la garde-robe vintage et plusieurs autres options.
